Your chance to own a high quality prop replica of the GoldenEye space-based weapons system controller featured in the film GoldenEye (1995). This numbered edition was meticulously replicated from the original film prop in the James Bond Archive. You can turn the device on to engage the same edge-lit illumination feature as seen on screen. The replica is part of a numbered series of only 500 pieces.
Backstory. The GoldenEye system included an elaborate three part safeguard designed to protect it from unauthorised use. These safeguards included two keys and a third device with a central lens and internal CD-ROM that initiated the firing mechanism. The props were highly visible in the film, perhaps most memorably when they were stolen by Colonel Ourumov and Xenia Onatopp from the Severnaya weapons facility, as part of Alec Trevelyan’s plan to loot billions of pounds from the Bank of England.
Details. The GoldenEye lens replica frame is machined aluminum with a protective brushed-effect coating. The centre contains a CD-ROM in an acrylic setting, while the central lens is amber-look cast polycarbonate. The twin keys are solid machined metal with an electroplated gold-effect coating. A museum-quality display stand and acrylic cover allow you to display the replica in style, while the numbered limited edition plaque, certificate of authenticity, and detailed story booklet ensure authenticity. The product is presented in a 007 branded box, protected within an outer shipping carton.
