Backstory. As the fourth film in the series, Thunderball (1965) built on James Bond's status as a man of action. 25% of the movie's screen time takes place underwater and Special effect supervisor John Stears won the Oscar for visual effects for his remarkable achievements.

Details. The coin’s design portrays an iconic underwater image of Bond in a classic orange scuba gear with harpoon gun fighting off an adversary – all in colour. The other side bears the Ian-Rank Broadley portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the 2021 year date, weight and purity, and monetary denomination. Each coin is presented in a 007 acrylic display case within a Thunderball box, accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity featuring poster artwork.

The makers. The Perth Mint is official mint of Australia and is wholly owned by the Government of Western Australia. The mint manufactures and distributes platinum, silver and gold coins for collectors and customers worldwide.

Please note: We recommend keeping your coin within its protective display housing at all times. If touched or left exposed to the air, the freshly minted precious metal will react to atmospheric dust and moisture, as well as oils and acids in the skin, leaving marks that cannot be removed. We cannot be held responsible if this happens. If you do choose to handle your coin, always wear gloves and hold it by its edges.
