James Bond Blue Cotton Shirt - Dr. No Edition - By Turnbull & Asser

Beginning a long love affair with James Bond, the blue cotton Dr. No (1962) shirt featured in the first film of the franchise and was specially made for Sean Connery. The original and the best, the now-iconic design of the James Bond Dr. No shirt features two-button turnback cocktail cuffs which are unique to this piece.

Backstory. Terence Young, Dr. No’s director and a loyal Turnbull customer himself,
dispatched Sean Connery to Jermyn Street ahead of his role as the very first Bond of the silver screen. It was this relationship that saw the creation of the now-iconic Dr. No shirt.

Details. A regular fit, 100% cotton poplin shirt with a two-button turnback cuff and a signature Dr. No collar made to Sean Connery's specification.

T&A shirts are handmade in their Gloucester factory, using hand-worked sewing machines operated by seamstresses with a wealth of experience. The patterns are cut from the highest quality cotton, with the separate pieces expertly brought together to create the final design. They finish the shirt with ethically sourced mother-of-pearl buttons, which are thermally fused to ensure they never loosen with wear; two branded collar stays are then placed into the collar for aesthetic and functional precision.
