Fabergé x 007 Octopussy Egg Objet - Numbered Edition

Introducing the Fabergé x 007 Octopussy Egg Objet - Numbered Edition, a precious collector's piece, hand crafted from 18k yellow gold, green guilloché enamel, diamonds and blue sapphires, in a limited edition of 50. One is available for immediate delivery.

This is the first in a series of Fabergé x 007 collections taking inspiration from the film series. The 2024 objet is inspired by the Fabergé egg at the centre of the Octopussy story, with its rich green enamel carefully selected for its similarity to the enamel used on the Fabergé egg in the 1983 film.

Details. Limited to just 50 numbered pieces, the egg objet stands at 8.4cm tall. Made from the finest precious materials: 18k yellow gold, 180 round brilliant cut white diamonds with a total weight of 1.49ct, four blue sapphires, total weight 0.07ct, two round black diamonds, total weight 0.1ct, four yellow diamonds, total weight 0.06ct

The exterior.A mesmerising pattern is visible underneath the lustrous green enamel - a combination of Fabergé’s signature guilloché, accompanied by an intricate artwork of engraved octopus tentacles which mysteriously wrap around the egg. These tentacles feature minute detail, and provide a level of depth and intrigue to the piece. The application is a highly skilled hand technique which takes absolute precision and patience, and is so complex that one week’s work is reserved for this alone.

A yellow gold band encircles the egg, with a gold 007 logo marking the point of entry into discovering the signature Fabergé surprise hidden within.

The interior.  The egg opens to reveal an 18k yellow gold octopus nestled inside, adorned with white diamond suckers and black diamond eyes. The octopus surprise pays homage to the eponymous antagonist at the centre of the Octopussy film. This is also a nod to Peter Carl Fabergé, who was renowned for his miniature animal studies, both created as charms and as ornaments in hardstone.

The stand. The egg is mounted on a stand which is reminiscent of the one featured in the film, set with white diamonds and blue sapphires.

Craftmanship. The very first Octopussy Egg Objet took seven months to create, at the hands of 12 specialists working across nine individual crafts including spinning, dye stamping, casting, goldsmithing, guilloché engraving, hand-engraving, enameling, setting and polishing. Each egg will take six months to complete in the workshop in Germany, overseen by a Fabergé Workmaster whose family have practiced the art of enamel for four generations. Each piece exemplifies the very finest craftsmanship and time-honored techniques that Fabergé is renowned for.

The makers.  Fabergé, the world’s most iconic artist jeweller, creates extraordinary jewellery, watches and objets d’art, as well as bespoke commissions for a discerning international clientele. Founded in 1842, Fabergé has been one of the most revered names in jewellery ever since Peter Carl Fabergé created the 50 ingenious Imperial Easter Eggs for the Romanov family between 1885 and 1916.
