The James BondCheck-In Trolley Case - Dr. No Dots Edition - by Globe-Trotter is a playful homage to the iconic opening titles of the first 007 film. Synonymous with great British design, Globe-Trotter's handmade luggage and leather collections are a timeless and elegant expression of craftsmanship. This case is the best size for travellers wishing to go away for a week or more. The case is to be placed in the hold, but is lockable to keep your valuables safe.

Backstory. Designed by Maurice Binder, the Dr. No title sequence is a modernist vision: his titles create the visual elements that became icons of popular culture. The coloured dots change colour, position and form patterns at the same high tempo as the score and are just one element of a hugely influential sequence.

Details. This is a four-wheel case in black with a coloured dot pattern. The design is made from a vulcanised fibreboard, with black leather corners, straps and handles.  The case has an extendable wooden rowing handle, and has the capacity to hold several outfits as well as room for spare shoes and accessories to take on your trip. Each case comes with a specially designed leather patch featuring the original 007 logo from 1962, and even smallest features within the suitcases has been customised including the leather trim of the straps and eyelets, featuring custom-dyed leather matching the coloured dots.  It comes complete with two internal webbing straps on the lid and base and is fully lined. An exterior centre clip gives additional security along with two TSA approved locks with keys. The case is finished with a metal plaque featuring the 007 logo and serial number. Each piece of luggage in the range will come with a special edition leather luggage tag, with the front side inset with vulcanised fibreboard featuring the coloured dots, while the back has the original 007 logo embossed on the leather surface.

Dimensions. H74cm, W51cm, D26cm, capacity 78l, weight 5.5kg

The makers. Established in 1897, Globe-Trotter suitcases and travel accessories are handcrafted in Hertfordshire, England by highly skilled artisans using original manufacturing methods and machinery that date back to the Victorian era. The 007 cases are made to order from panels of vulcanised fibreboard: a unique material invented in Britain during the 1850s that is as strong as leather and as light as aluminium. Each sheet is moulded into shape using a method patented by the company in 1901, while the case’s black leather corners are moulded on Victorian press machines over a period of five days to ensure optimum strength and form.
