A 007Store exclusive. Now available for pre-order with first deliveries in Spring 2023.
Introducing the James Bond 007 Guitar - Signed & Numbered David Arnold Edition - by Duesenberg. This special collector's edition guitar celebrates 60 years of James Bond on screen.
German guitar maker Duesenberg joins forces with James Bond and long-term collaborator and five-time 007 composer David Arnold to make a unique guitar. Strictly limited to 75, each individually numbered guitar is handmade and personally signed by David Arnold.
Backstory. The limited edition series is inspired by a custom Duesenberg guitar co-created with David Arnold for the Sound of 007 in Concert in October 2022. Played by David Arnold and Hans Zimmer at the James Bond 60th anniversary event, the guitar was then signed by the artists and auctioned for charity.
Details. The David Arnold Edition is based on Duesenberg’s Paloma guitar. Its body is embellished with the 007 gun barrel design seen in the films' opening title sequences since 1962. The headstock has a vintage 007 gun logo, complemented by a graphic layout of the 25 James Bond film title treatments on the back. Tone and volume knobs are also engraved with 007. Each guitar will be presented with limited edition extras including a 007 hard case and art print.
Handmade in Germany with a solid alder body and maple neck, the 007 guitar has nickel-plated hardware, a Diamond Deluxe Tremola, Pearloid Diamond fretboard inlays and a fluid body contour. Its three pickup layout features Duesenberg‘s GrandVintage Humbucker at the bridge and two matched Duesenberg Singlecoils - Pearlito and AlnicoBlade - offering a wide variety of sounds for any situation. The four pickup combinations are accessible through a new 4-way rotary switch.
About the makers. Duesenberg Guitars make high-end guitars for artists including The Rolling Stones, The Eagles, Bon Jovi, Bob Dylan and Johnny Depp. The company has a long standing relationship with Bond musicians, including five time 007 composer David Arnold, the late Chris Cornell - who sang Casino Royale‘s title song “You know my name“, and “Skyfall“ singer Adele’s band.
David Arnold says "Since Chris Cornell introduced me to Duesenberg whilst we were working on Casino Royale, I‘ve been a huge fan of their instruments. They‘re brilliantly engineered, have a fantastic design aesthetic and an idiosyncratic sound. The Paloma is the guitar I‘d wanted since I started playing. It has a beautiful shape, finish and sound which seems to cover all the best sounds of every other guitar I‘ve played - but in the one instrument. To be asked to design this special limited edition instrument with the guys at Duesenberg was very much a first for me. I hope who ever gets their hands on one plays something from the Bond back catalogue when they take it out of the case."
