Bollinger and James Bond have a long running relationship of over 40 years and is the Official Champagne of 007. The La Grande Année 2014 Champagne by Bollinger is a rich and savoury vintage Champagne, perfect for gifting, drinking while dining and celebrating. The Champagne will continue to develop and improve for decades to come.

Each bottle is supplied with a James Bond card so you can personalise your gift.

Backstory. Bollinger made its 007 debut  in the Ian Fleming novel Diamonds are Forever. Its first screen appearance is in  Moonraker (1979). Bond climbs through Holly Goodhead’s hotel room window in Venice and when he sees the Bollinger ice bucket, he remarks, “If it is the '69, you were expecting me.”

Details. Crafted from grapes grown in 19 Grand and Premier Cru sites, this is a blend of 61% Pinot Noir (mainly Aÿ and Verzenay) and 39% Chardonnay (mainly Chouilly and Oiry). Rich and savoury, it is a remarkably fresh drinking experience and is the a Champagne you can sip while dining. It has been fermented entirely in oak, aged more than twice as long as required by the appellation, riddled by hand and disgorged manually. On pouring it reveals a full spectrum of notes and flavours. Opening with orchard fruits including peach, plum, apple, pear; travelling through orange zest, lemon meringue pie and blossom from the Chouilly and Oiry fruit; and notes of cherry bakewell, quince jelly, roasted hazelnuts, almond biscotti, leather, chalk, vanilla, dried mushroom and smoke.

Presented in a Bollinger gift box.
