Introducing the James Bond 1oz Silver Proof Coloured Coin - Live And Let Die 50th Anniversary Numbered Edition by The Perth Mint
Celebrating Live And Let Die, the 1973 blockbuster that established Roger Moore as Bond. This unique James Bond collectible depicts colour images from the original poster and is struck by The Perth Mint from 1oz of 99.99% pure silver. Issued as Tuvalu legal tender, the coin has a maximum mintage of 5,000 each.
Backstory. Roger Moore debuted as Bond in Live And Let Die with a portrayal that was as debonair as it was dangerous, often with a deadly sense of humour.
Details. The coin portrays a coloured representation of James Bond against a fiery explosion. Other coloured elements include the movie title and a crocodile, a nod to Bond’s quick-witted escape from a group of the hungry reptiles. Also included in the design are two powerful speedboats symbolising the film’s unforgettable Louisiana bayou chase, and cards featuring the Bond family crest bearing the motto ORBIS NON SUFFICIT (the world is not enough) and the number 50. The obverse of the coin bears the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II supplemented with the dates of her reign ‘1952-2023’, as well as the coin’s weight, purity, monetary denomination and 2023 year-date. Each coin is presented in a themed box with a numbered certificate of authenticity.
The makers. The Perth Mint is the official mint of Australia and is wholly owned by the Government of Western Australia. The mint manufactures and distributes platinum, silver and gold coins for collectors and customers worldwide.
Please note. We recommend keeping your coin within its protective display housing at all times. If touched or left exposed to the air, the freshly minted precious metal will react to atmospheric dust and moisture, as well as oils and acids in the skin, leaving marks that cannot be removed. We cannot be held responsible if this happens. If you do choose to handle your coin, always wear gloves and hold it by its edges.
