James Bond 1oz Silver Proof Coloured Coin - Sean Connery Goldfinger 60th Anniversary Numbered Edition - By The Perth Mint

The James Bond 1oz Silver Proof Coloured Coin - Sean Connery Goldfinger 60th Anniversary Numbered Edition - By The Perth Mint is struck by from 99.99% pure silver. Issued as legal tender under the authority of the Government of Tuvalu, this is released in a series of 5,000.

Backstory.  This coin celebrates 1964’s Goldfinger, the film where we first meet the Aston Martin DB5. Heavily modified by Q Branch to help 007 in a deadly mission against international gold smuggler Auric Goldfinger, the car’s features included a tracking device, tyre slashers, smoke screen and oil slick, a bullet-proof rear shield, and two front-mounted machine-guns. When threatened inside the car by an adversary, Bond dispatched his unwanted passenger using an ejector seat.

Details.  The coin’s reverse portrays a coloured image of Sean Connery leaning on the bonnet of the Aston Martin DB5. The design includes the coloured inscription ‘JAMES BOND’, the 007 gun logo, and spiral gun barrel graphics from the franchise’s signature opening sequence.

The obverse portrays the Jody Clark effigy of His Majesty King Charles III, as well as the weight, purity, monetary denomination, and 2024 year-date. Housed in a presentation case and 007-themed shipper, the coin is accompanied by a numbered certificate of authenticity which reproduces movie production designer Sir Kenneth Adam’s original sketches for the gadget-enhanced DB5.

Please note.  We recommend keeping your coin within its protective display housing at all times. If touched or left exposed to the air, the freshly minted precious metal will react to atmospheric dust and moisture, as well as oils and acids in the skin, leaving marks that cannot be removed. We cannot be held responsible if this happens. If you do choose to handle your coin, always wear gloves and hold it by its edges.
