Introducing the James Bond 1oz Silver Minted Mini Coin - Numbered Edition - By The Perth Mint, the second in a series of 007 precious chibi character coins.
Brought to the big screen in 1962's Dr. No, Ursula Andress made waves as the fictional shell diver Honey Ryder, becoming one of the most iconic characters of the James Bond franchise.
Struck by The Perth Mint from 1oz of 99.99% pure silver, this coin is issued as legal tender under the authority of the Government of Tuvalu. The Perth Mint will release no more than 2,500 of the coins.
Backstory. The Minted Minis are inspired by Japanese chibi and represents all the creative and technical processes that have been associated with The Perth Mint for more than 100 years. The result is a fun, intricate character presented in the form of a uniquely shaped silver coin. Chibi is a Japanese term describing a specific style of caricature where characters are drawn in an exaggerated way, very much inspired by Japanese anime.
Details. The reverse of the character-shaped coin portrays a stylised colour representation of Honey in her iconic white bikini with a knife belt and shell. The obverse of the coin bears the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II supplemented with the dates of her reign ‘1952-2022’, as well as the coin’s weight, purity, monetary denomination and 2023 year date. Each coin is presented in a clear acrylic case, allowing both sides of the coin to be displayed standing up, and is accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
Dimensions. H37mm, W30mm, D6.50mm, weight 31.107g
The makers. The Perth Mint is Australia's official bullion mint and is wholly owned by the Government of Western Australia. The mint manufactures and distributes platinum, silver and gold coins for collectors and customers worldwide.
Please note. We recommend keeping your coin within its protective display housing at all times. If touched or left exposed to the air, the freshly minted precious metal will react to atmospheric dust and moisture, as well as oils and acids in the skin, leaving marks that cannot be removed. We cannot be held responsible if this happens. If you do choose to handle your coin, always wear gloves and hold it by its edges.
