Introducing the James Bond 1oz Silver Antiqued Casino Chip Coin - Casino Royale Limited Edition - By The Perth Mint. Struck by the mint from 1oz of 99.99% pure silver, this coin is issued as legal tender under the authority of the Government of Tuvalu and is issued in a series of 2,500.
Backstory. In the 2006 film, Bond takes on Le Chiffre in a high stakes poker game. The financier intends to recoup money he owes to an African rebel group but loses out to 007 at the tables of the Hotel Splendide's Casino Royale.
Details. The coin has been individually ‘antiqued’ to give all the surface abrasions and age of a well-used chip. As a result, each coin is unique. The coin’s reverse has the design of a poker chip in red and gold detailing, based on the $100,000 chip seen on screen. It features the inscription ‘CASINO ROYALE’ and the 007 logo. The obverse of the coin bears the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, supplemented with the dates of her reign, as well as the coin’s weight, purity, monetary denomination and 2023 year-date. Each coin is presented in a acrylic fronted display case.
The makers. The Perth Mint is Australia's official bullion mint and is wholly owned by the Government of Western Australia. The mint manufactures and distributes platinum, silver and gold coins for collectors and customers worldwide.
