Backstory. In the 2006 film, Bond takes on Le Chiffre in a high stakes poker game. The financier intends to recoup money he owes to an African rebel group but loses out to 007 at the tables of the Hotel Splendide's Casino Royale.
Details. The coin’s reverse has the design of a poker chip, based on the $100,000 chip seen on screen. It features the inscription ‘CASINO ROYALE’ and the 007 logo. The obverse of the coin bears the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, supplemented with the dates of her reign, as well as the coin’s weight, purity, monetary denomination and 2023 year-date.
